[Solved] Why hasn't this been fixed?

I love this game. I'm a huge stargate fan, and have spent countless hours playing this. But ever since two updates ago, it won't let me play. It will load the map and then it just kicks me back to the log in screen. I've posted about this before, but I can't spare the hard drive space for a game that won't let me play- no matter how much I love it. Please fix this soon.

i had that issue every time i logged in, but it would only happen once and then i could play after logging in again. but since the latest patch, it hasn't happened at all.

Odd. I've not had that since two patches ago. Sounds like maybe a corrupted file? I know everyone hates the time old "reinstall?" but have you tried that?

I've been hesitant to re-install cuz I would hate to wait for the game to update again, but I should probably go ahead and try it. Thanks guys.

Alright so I re-installed it. And now it won't let me update. It says validation failed or something. So I even tried download a new install file from d2d and it still says that. Anyone know what's going wrong?

Thanks, Aoloebio! I was able to download and succesfully re-install. However even after the freshly downloaded install was complete, the same things happens. Loads the map, then kicks me back to login. I'm about ready to give up.

Can you throw us your dxdiag as well?

How would I go about getting that? I admit, i'm not terrible smart about such things. Sorry But if it means I can get back to enjoying the game. I'll try anything.

You know, this could almost be a hardware issue, like a failing hard drive (that didn't manifest until the game was updated). You might try running chkdsk (by right clicking on your hard drive), or downloading the manufacturer's testing software from their website (the hard drive manufacturer, i.e. seagate, maxtor, western digital). If this is too complicated or difficult you can take it into a shop to have it checked out. If you go to Geek Squad, they actually run hardware tests on most major components, as well as virus checks and chkdsk. It runs $69.99

Maybe I'm blind, but the FAQ for how to find dxdiag in the above link appears to be empty. Sorry if I'm just missing it.

Start (search) type dxdiag -click/or, Enter, will bring up the dxdiag,

on the system screen - save all information, normal saves to desktop,(or you can pick a location my documents ect, then copy and past here or e-mail.

Try removing your madcatz controller from your computer. Also, it looks like you have very little space on your C drive so it could be that you were unable to download everything correctly.Try installing and running the game from your D drive and see if you have the same problem. Make sure you have an up to date version of PhysX as well.

A good rule of thumb is to keep 20% of your hard drive free, especially on the drive with the swap file (the place where windows, stores stuff from memory on a temp basis whilst it processes other programs running).

Also regular maintenace, such as a defrag is a good move

+1 on the defrag, CCleaner for your registry is good to have to, its basic and a great program for anyone to use.

From what I know this is the issue:
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

3200 is an integrated card that shares memory with the CPU.

SGR is known to have issues with integrated GPUs.

If it worked for you before, there may be a set of bios or game settings at which the game may run.

Thank you all for your help I do have the game running off of my D drive, but I will also try and free up some space on my C drive. I'll also try download CCleaner. I hope it works after this.

Alright, well I unplugged the controller and it worked! All this fuss for such a simple fix. Haha. It's odd though, ever since I first download this game I've been using that controller to play and it never had an effect like that before. I wonder why it is now?

I suspect hackshield has something to do with that.
