Its been shown that the ascended
can do things like turn back time and hide and protect planets, so it
could have not been destroyed, as the Abydonians ascended thanks to the
Big Oma D. and I'm sure some of them wanted it back prity bad!
I agree we should have this map!!!! Its easy explained how its back if you try hard enough and want it bad enough!! __________________

I'm all for having maps that were
in the series and films, but could someone kindly explain to me how an
Abydos map would be "FUN" to play on?
Theres the gateroom, a corridor leading to the ring platform chamber, another corridor leading to the entrance chamber (the one with the pillars) and the ramp down to the sand. The pyramid itself is empty, meaning no writings and no cartouches with nothing but sandstone walls and sandy floors. There is the posibility of using the chamber below the gateroom where the secret room is that was in the series, and also the rings up to a landed hatak, but I can't see this map (if it was made) being nothing more than a devs waste of time and effort. I thought the idea of going through the stargate was to visit new unexplored worlds, not the already visited boring ones. The devs can actually create worlds now that couldn't be done in the series due to complexities of set pieces and the budget. Now that we have this game, we can have huge complex colorful worlds. I want to see a vast range of diversity, not sandstone walls and oceans of desert. My 2 cents __________________

this map was actually implemented in a half life 2 mod for stargate, and it was pretty fun to play on actually. The idea was that one team was inside the pyramid and the other team was spawning outside and they were about to storm the pyramid that the other team had to defend. It became a pretty big and open "running down to the valley" siege. It really had its moments =P |

I was going for originality TBH, in
the film and series everything was miles away from each other, I
wouldn't like the idea of bringing all these things together just to
make a map, it would take away the point of going there cause it
wouldn't be the same in the end.
But I dunno, dont get me wrong I'm not against it, I just don't think it would be as fun as jumping through the gate into a compleatly new world thats bright colorful and unexplored! __________________

well here is a really cool idea i
think all of you will like here it is how about you can fight in a
haták on abidos now that would be cool or even cooler they
should make a map were everyone is just in f302's and death gliders now
that would be awsome!!!

forget the story. setting the game
in a specific timeframe was a big mistake, especially if it interferes
with maps that are necessary to the games success. and abydos is an
important map. aside from being a big part of the story in sg1, i know
people that never even watched sg1 but loved the original movie that
would love to battle in and around the pyramid. and a ha'tak in orbit
with rings would also be a big plus.

With the firpower he had he
probably destroyed the surrounding 20-30 miles, though never notice as
its a desert planet,
though you could say the SG has repaced the gate thier,-as id hazzard a guess that thier was more than one settlement on the planet, unless they all lived within the blast zone. __________________

Even though the pyramid was
destroyed, whats to say the gate was? It could have just been buried
waiting to be dug up by a system lord claiming new land.
Going off that, this new map thats has been seen used as the login screen and its also been seen in the latest video 'could' be abydos. You can clearly see sand dunes in the background that have the smoke billowing from behind them, and there aren't any writings on the stones like there was on Armarna. Although this is just wishfull thinking __________________

Well could say -the Goa,uld,Tok,ra,
or SG resettled it .
(tok,ra, maby, -since every one thinks/knows, Anubis destoryed the pyramid, and everything else, great place for them to set up a hidden base, which has (somehow?) cought the Attension of the Goa,uld, and needs to be defended ? (so give you a Tok,ra base underground/surface map/s) __________________
