How Many...

I was wondering if a dev could give us a number as to how many people actually bought the game after the free weekend? I'd be really interested to know how fast this game is growing. I know a lot of people seem to have bought it, but a nice estimate, or even an exact number would be cool!

also, sorry if this has already been asked, i haven't been checking the forums much because its finals week...

i think this question hasn't been asked much because we all are pretty sure they're not going to tell us, for some reason. with any other anticipated game, we would have seen opening week sales numbers right away. when STO was released, every scifi and gadget site that i go to had the main article about how it sold over a million copies on the first day.
if SGR had sold big, it would've attracted more attention and we'd probably know the numbers. it could be that this game having low numbers is the reason they've been able to hide it. but if it comes down to it, someone will eventually find their 2010 financial report and post the number.
i'm tired. i'll see if this still makes sense when i wake.

I doubt Firesky will reveal their sales. They have no obligation nor need to do so.

actually, most companies in the US file an annual (at least) report ... although i dont know if they have to if the company isn't owned by shareholders

Ok you got me there . I say the companies Firesky and Dark Comet Games are owned by shareholders since they are both Limited Liability Companies.

actually firewraith no. this is what will happen.

all of -banana- will be on the opposing team and you will be the only person on your team who knows how to cloak, that you can heal, jaffa has flashbangs, etc.

It has happened to me. though not against any specific clan but ill be against like murphy, foreverzero, and some smart new people and on my team will be the people who try to run away into the stargate. repeatedly.

LOL! once i spawned on Amarna, and walked out to see 5 people standing in a row, and they all charged into the stargate. I asked them why they all went together, and they said they thought it connected to the SGC map, and they wanted to be prepared. I almost died laughing

I say we get a special server, that has 1 team of 8 experienced players and 16 inexperienced on the other side. We could call it "K/D Farming Server"

if you have a high rank enough then the server will be shown. But if your rank is low then you will randomly be transported to that server instead of going to the real server that you choose, And there is no logging out of the server ;P

Building on this idea.. maybe the stargate on regular maps will just transport you to that server and drop you on the 16 man team?
