Only reason I upgraded to a phone with a keyboard was because there was nothing less gimmicky available. I'm still one of those fools who uses a phone as a phone because he wants to. I love hearing the intonation of voice from people I talk to. While texting has its uses, those have long since been overshot. I watch conversations at tables of friends sitting around at a meal degenerate into iPhone/Droid exploration frenzies rather than conversations, and I admit... all it does is disgust me.

If I wanted a phone that was just a phone I'd buy a £10 burner from the local newsagents - or just use my landline. I buy mobile computing devices and am still looking for a lot more from them than is currently available.

Of course it's a valid opinion and it is one my mum shares. She is still using her first ever mobile phone and it was a hand me down that was obsolete in 2005.

I agree that conversations that descend into app frenzy are a bit naff, particularly if there are those like yourself who don't care involved in the conversation. Depending on the conversation, who it is with and the situation it occurs in of course - but I would definitely never have one at a meal.

i have only had (so far-unless borrowed one) 2 mobile phones over the last 10-15 years,



best little phone- id still be useing it if the battery dident last more that 30 minutes a recharge)

(also since i always whanted a flip phone)


have had this phone (5mb version) for i think, gee,emm, 4-5 years, id like to get a new one (flip -but none i like)

Lasarith, mate - don't get me started. Monopolistic practices, using DRM to lock people to their platform, no flash, approval process for third party apps, their over the top prices that don’t scale down until they are obsolete, their treatment of copyright holders that aren’t gigantic corporations, their 'software'... I could fill forums!

I've only had four iPod related products and wouldn't touch their computers. That said I'm no Windows fan either. I think their both as bad as each other, just better at being bad in different areas.

I think we've derailed the topic a bit here... I too would welcome a single player campaign and a multiplayer co-op released as periodic mini-episodes.

I think playing with you guys is more important though. I think a single player campaign would be useful for introducing good, solid non-playable characters to the existing game which could then be introduced to select maps with selected game types to add an extra dimension.

For example if they add a P2X-338 map from SG-1 5x08 The Tomb imagine a Survival mode with the addition of Marduk-in-the-Creature as a non-playable character preying on both Factions.

thats why i love my plan i get an upgrade every.... six months i think. but im paying close to $120 USD per month so they better give me a #### upgrade. lol

i wish they would add SP support. it doesn't even need to be a campaign, just adding bots in a BF style. but i would be happy with ANY sp support just cause i'm on the road a lot.
