(Yes, this belongs in here, as it is about the SGR community; please do not move this thread).


Who are you, and what do you do?

As SGR grows and continues to absorb people into the community, I felt it fitting to include a thread where forumites such as myself and the many, many others who play and post here could get to know eachother on a more personal level.

Everyone knows that the most important thing in the community is the people, as that's technically all a community is comprised of, and their common interest(s). In this case, our interest is SGR.

With that said, I would like to get to know you all a little bit better. I'll go first!


My name's Steve, I'm 22, and live in Alberta, Canada (yes, I ride a dogsleigh to work, no, you cannot ask me about my dogs). I work as a leasing consultant for a large apartment complex and live with my fiance Brittany, who works as a store manager for a local Starbucks. I'm into video games, collecting certain action figures, and hitting my revenue target for my monthly bonus

im quack 24ish usa nursing major then going on to romantic languages bachelors * scary isnt it?* and pretty much broke feed me? im getting sick or ramen noodles

Ex-spc from us army 11c1p. infantry ftw. airborne. im out 100percent now.

had a gig as a pc tech and a junior network admin at bank of america. pretty much involved me waking up every couple of hours to check the temp and logs and then going back to sleep.

ive got my a+ n+ and was working on my server+ but meh too much work not enough pay. atleast in the nyc area.

i ve since then moved to the south and i must say i dig the 500 bucks for a 1bedroom apartment. i was paying 1200 for a studio smaller than my current walk in closet.

My name is Thomas [preferably pronounced Tom'mass], I come from Guernsey and have been called Foxy on and off for a long time. I am a final year BSc Physics student at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. I live in a semi-detached house in Kilwinning with my g/f named Kat, who is a Gymastics instructor and Forensic Scientist. oh, and we have a black and white cat named Mitzi, who was abandoned by her previous owner as soon as she was not a kitten any more and lived a year outside in Scotland(!!!) before we found her and took her in.

I watch at least one episode of Stargate every day and spend about 98hours a week trying to keep up with my course, yet it never seems to be enough. Also, weather permitting I like to go sea fishing, otherwise I bum around the house building laser experiments (got a 50mW 532nm laser ) and digital circuits.


Oh, and I like to make things like this, like this, and this, and this, and this, and this so I can do experiments that show things like this, which really keeps me busy.

Aside from that, I'm intrigued by all things philosophical, theological, anthropological, astrological, psychological... Well, existence as a whole really!

My spare time is either spent in the company of my beloved PS3 or occupying myself cloaked in the dark corners of SGR...

My name is Aaron, I am 20 years old. I live in Dublin Ireland, recently moved there from a town in the countryside called Ashbourne. I am also in college studying Computer Science doing a Bsc ordinary in Griffith College Dublin. I run sggaminginfo.com and in the past I have done DJing on SG1-radio, had sgwblog, helped SGWwiki and SGRwiki and was lead author on SGWweekly.
I am a keen fan of SGW and SGR and a dev stalker. All the devs that have worked with CME/Firesky past and present are all great .

My name is Jeremy, 32, I reside in SW Florida, USA where its been to cold for us this winter, was an auto mechanic but was laid off due to a Back injury on the job last year, I'm looking to get back in Computer IT but may have to file for disability, otherwise Ive been watchin my 3 yr old niece and being a Taxi for my Grandparents for their Doc appts. I'm a Tech junkie, and dabble in repairing and maintain familiys Comps, I love anything that is Stargate, been apart of my life since the original came out. SGR is my first online game, if I wasn't here I'd be playin poker online somerwhere, NASCAR and American football are some other intrests.

The name's Drew. I'm 19 (20 soon, w00t!). I reside in Stevens Point, Wisconsin (US) and go to the University there. I'm a Web and Digital Media Development major, as well as studying Philosophy of Religious Studies. I am currently employed at a hotel in town and work 3rd shift (every morning @ 3am :'( )
I enjoy movies and gaming when I have time and developing random websites, as such the Command Center has been my recent occupancy of time lately. I occasionally like to dabble in 3d modeling, but haven't done much of it. I've got some projects on this site, there's a pic there too on the home page.
I'm also a musician, I play everything Low Brass as well as Saxophone and play Bass Guitar for a worship band (I was actually a music major once ).
Stargate and BSG is the greatest thing ever. And if I wasn't so stupid I would join the military just so I could go through the REAL STARGATE! lol

Oh yea, I have a purple Scooter. It's AWESOME! My gf and I go for cruises on it down the streets early in the morning.

EDIT: I forgot to add that I watched all of SG-1, movies & TV episodes in 4 1/2 weeks, during the school semester. That's roughly 220 hours. The proudest moment in the history of my life lol.

My name is Mark, i'm 19 from Boston, MA. I go to college in Chicago, and am a Biology/Pre-Med major. I've watched Stargate for as long as i can remember, and still watch it. However recently, I am ashamed to admit, Battlestar Galactica has become my favorite show over SG-1. Please don't kill me for that...

My name's Josh "kenny" and I live in Canada in Kelowna B.C. Only 18 years old. (yes I live just a few hours from the olympics, no I couldn't have gotten you tickets!) I enjoy kicking back with a cold one and some stargate, and since I'm only 18 "cold one" usually refers to leftovers or pizza. Yeah I actually prefer cold pizza over hot pizza, odd eh?

I'm mostly interested in psychology, ancient "orient" cultures, and philosophy. I'm always up for a good game of street or floor hockey, and I can't wait for college! I hear the famous ramen and red bull diet calling already

Name's Douglas Churaman, 20 yrs old. I live in (USA) Orlando, FL but born in NY. Majoring in aerospace engineering at university of central florida. I am currently in between jobs while I go to school full time. I have followed everything Stargate since the SG-1 series debuted in 1997, I remember that first night clearly =). I have the entire SG-1 series on DVD twice over because I bought the box seasons and then bought the 10th anniversary edition as well. I have a German Shepherd/siberian husky mix dog. I love baseball, lifelong New York Yankees fan. I don't really play alot of video games other than when I was little and would play super nintendo, sega and PS1, yes I am old school and proud of it. Actually the Worlds beta and now Resistance are the most recent gaming I have done. I really am what you would call a nerd, and most of my friends are as well. I love fixing anything electronic, enjoy learning more about all the physics and science introduced in the Stargate series. I have countless hours logged in computer graphics and 3d rendering programs I "acquired" online for school and club activities.

One thing I miss the most are SciFi (not SyFy!!!) Fridays with SG-1, Atlantis, and Galactica. If they could bring that back and throw Universe in there, that would be great. Frankly when I heard they were breaking apart Fridays, I knew the network was shooting themselves in the foot, but I digress, lol.

i'm 30, i have a wife and 2 dogs. i am a lighting designer, i run light shows for rock concerts. people call me "the light guy". i watch stargate or star trek every day. i don't play games much, until now. i love my job and i love SGR.




edit: one more thing of significance, my wife loves sci-fi too. we got married on the bridge of the enterprise in vegas. but she doesn't play SGR.

i'm Timothy, from Louisiana USA. 19, gonna be 20 soon (3rd one so far, lol). i'm good at math, LOVE science (especially engineering aka building stuff/taking stuff apart). i'm a weird guy, but easy to get along with and fairly fun. umm.... i'm a gymnast (but not gay, so no **** jokes!) and double as an amateur . pretty good with animals, so i dunno what i'm gonna do with my life. oh, i help run sound/video at my church too. and i love climbing trees, but i LOOOOOVE fire. woot for pyro boy!! that's about it, except.... I am the vanguard of your destruction.

My name is Brandon and I am 23 years old going to University. I work in the field of information and information technology... i.e a librarian, but really I have not completed my studies. BA and dilopma in library technology and on my way to getting accepted for the masters program. In game I play as go`tak. I live in beautiful British Columbia, where the olympics were just held, and where many stargate episodes have been filmed I am still trying to get onto one of the sets. :S Apparently it used to be really easy to talk your way into getting a tour, but not so much anymore.

I have enjoy video games and made some mods for Fallout 3. some of which are in the character development stage (my buddy needs to finish the script).

I got married in the summer and own two cats. here is the newest addition to the family.






Stargate rocks and I cannot wait to see the new dlc content.

Congrats on the marriage, Bonnonon! Glad to see so many fellow Canadians in here! My favorite reviews show Reviews On The Run is filmed daily in Vancouver, and I always see people walking around behind them, so you should try and get filmed by them
