how do you say your name?

how do you say your name, and what does it mean?

a question in-game tonight got me thinking, there's lots of interesting names here, and it'd be cool to know more about them. so if you've got a name thats hard to pronounce, and/or it has some meaning, please feel free to tell your tale.

my name is a combination of parts of my real name, and tuvok. it's pronounced "believe-ok", or "bee-leave-ok". the "ok" sounds like the "ok" in tuvok. tuvok is one of my favorite people in all of trek. also my wife says i am much like tuvok because i am very logical with everything, and i always can keep my cool in stressful situations. and sometimes she also says i'm virtually emotionless, when she's annoyed at my logic.

Interesting, untill now I just pronounced it "Bl-eh-vok" which just sounded east european to me.

My name is just a Cut-N-Shut, pronounced as you see it "Org-Con" it stands for my old band name "Organised Confusion" which was taken from an early Nirvana EP.

We have since changed the band name to "Voice of the Soul", a lot of ppl have said it makes us sound like a Soul band, which we are not.

Udrian, pronouces... Udrian... i just wrote it when i started a character in a game once... and then it got stuck... thats my boring story =P

Mad-Dog: Mad as in mad scientist, angry like -Dog as in that Old mut who sleeps on your porch but will bite you leg as soon as you step into his yard, unless you bring bacon!

I know my name is simplistic but its also been a play on my Last name in RL: Maddock. So I've tried to Stick with it as my online persona and gamertag.

To stay in the mad mood, mine is simple, a doctor who is mad never save people, he butcher them.

The story behind it is, few years ago I had a roommate in UK and we had a camera, we filmed everything and nothing. After we came back from vacation in Amsterdam, we decided to dress up like a doctor and "operate". After an hour of cutting, grinding and filtering, those little cannabis flowers never survived!

There was a thread like this a few years back in the SGW section, Fumbles was the name of my Warrior in EQ and when I started posting on forums it was my name of choice. Fumbles is also my go to name for my fighter/warrior characters in MMO's. I tend to be an altaholic and have several go to names that make it easier for friends to find me in games. Pronounced as you would expect fum-bulls I guess.

realz comes from realazthat, which is an odd spelling of real-as-that, of which the realz (as in reals) is part is an anagram of my name. I shortened it to realz after joining NID which is one letter longer than SL. I sometimes also go by the grave accent character "`". This is meant to be pronounced as "Express shipping to your grave".

Atlantis Orca.

Atlantis - because i love Stargate Atlantis and because it brought alot of good things.

Orca (Now edited,spelt OrKa)- Because they are my favorite animal.I now go by the same name but i've changed C to a K. Name now has more meaning now.^_^. I spell orka same way as my fiance.Sorta like a name change in a way. Now that we're engaged i'm sort of changing my name the same as his.Well only when it comes to orca at the moment lol.

That's a little about me,my name ATLANTIS ORKA

Mine is just an intentional misspelling of an alien race from the "Animorphs" book series. The race in question were the iskoort, but i always read it in my head as iskroot. I pronounce it as isk-root. I am dam happy that everywhere i go (netwise) this name is free. Btw the villains from the animorphs always reminded me of the goauld. The Yeerks are alien "slugs" that enslave their hosts.

It comes from ancient Egypt. God of Knowledge,magic,language, and so on, if you are not into ancient Egyptian myth check it out it is very interesting, you can find all the present belief systems got their ideas from them.

Was the name of a song i liked when i was younger, that.. and im pretty negative most of the time so it kinda stuck. i use it every game ive played since 2003

FireWraith, pretty easy one. I came up with it when thinking of another name for a phoenix. And yes, its Wraith, but it is not connected to the Wraith from Stargate. And its not FireWrath, sometimes people just dont see that 'i' in there...

well, mine's pretty simple. Dr_Jackson!, or just Jackson, or even Daniel. pronounced just the way it was in the series.

fumbles, for some reason, i think of homer simpson in that episode with frank grimes. someone who gets the job done very well, but almost by accident.

bc are my initials. A trainer is what can be used on some games to give you an advantage on something.

The trainer part of the name originally originates from the Roller coaster Tycoon days. I made my own trainer for the game so that I could mass spawn peeps, lots of money and other fun stuff with the game. (Tip: My name is in the RCT3: Wild! credits and is in the Vendor peeps in RCT3 somewhere)

Had this user name since around 2000, maybe before that actually.
