Ye, I wait a while to see if the teams
even out, like maybe 2-4 minutes. It also depends on gametype. For
example on SGC Conquer I will only capture the Fuel Silo if it is 2 v 1.
I will also switch if I don't recognize some of the opposing team such
as if it is a team of noobies and they need some experience on their
team. If the game has already progressed too far and i have a bunch of
kills or a decent K/D I will just wait until the next match to switch.

i've never switched teams before a few
weeks ago because until recently i mostly played sl. when there were
too many sl, i usually just left and had a smoke, or joined a different
match. maybe there's a simple reason that i just don't know, but the
other day i was on piramess and it became badly unbalanced, like 6v2, so
i was going to switch but i couldn't. the switch button was not
available.
from the other side though, i prefer to be outnumbered and i don't know why most people don't feel the same. when my team outnumbers the enemy, either people are competing for kills, or taking turns (or perhaps desperately trying to not look foolish by loosing to an inferior force). but when they outnumber us, it's more challenging and more fun, and more often than not, i can end with a positive kd.
